Owner Kaley Mackay has 21 years’ experience in cosmetology, seven of which have been working specifically with dreadlocks. Meet Kaley Mackay
I’m Kaley, founder of Kaleylocks, and I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 21 years. Five years ago I found myself searching for a new way to express my creativity and passion for hair styling. I began providing synthetic dreadlocks and crochet dreadlock maintenance to my clientele, and it wasn’t long before I was hooked and driven to learn more. I attended the ‘Level Up Your Loctician Skills’ workshop with Alin Leslie of Dollylocks and Ann-Marie Christell of Seienstyle, and it was such an inspiring experience that I went on to become certified in the Seienstyle style technique.
Being a loctician has challenged and inspired me to create art in a new way, whether it be with natural dreadlocks, synthetic or a combination of both. I love being able to work with my clients to create the hairstyle of their dreams, and watch them transform before my eyes into the dread-head they’ve always wanted to be! I feel so blessed to be part of this community, and for every client who puts their trust in my dreadlocks salon.
